"L'Altro Positivo": un'esplorazione della relazione triangolare tra nazionalismi senza Stato, Stati sovrani e Europa
    in Nazioni e Regioni , n. 8 ,  2016 ,  27-50
The literature on ethnicity and nationalism so far has focused mainly on how the Self is socially constructed by its opposition to one or more negative Others. Through an analysis of the discourse of three Western European nationalist parties since the 1980s, this essay shows how the collective Self may instead be related also to (at least) another subject, a positive Other, represented as the embodiment of one’s virtues, a model to follow and/or a standard to catch up with. The essay answers the need to provide new theoretical and empirical reflections on the triangular relation between states, stateless nationalisms and European integration underlined by Karolewski and Suszycki (2007).
