Inni e bandiere nella Spagna contemporanea. I simboli delle nazioni galeuzcanas
    in Nazioni e Regioni , n. 5 ,  2015 ,  69-87
The article discusses the invention and promotion of national symbols in Spain, with special attention to the anthems and flags of Galeuzca nations (Catalonia, the Basque Country and Galicia) as an example of nation-building in the historical time of mass production of national symbols in Europe and America (1870-1914). The originality of the process in Galeuzca is in the role of regionalist movements with scarce institutional power but able to mobilize the masses. However, the developers of this symbolic set were different. In Euskadi the role of the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV) was decisive; in Catalonia, local regionalist groups; in Galicia, migrant communities in the American republics. But the result was the same: the anthems and flags became a support for the political agenda of the galeuzcanos nationalisms of the twentieth century in Spain. Full text available online download
