    Outlining the interpretations on the relationship between Luigi Sturzo and Mario Einaudi – elaborated for each of them in the 1998 editions published by the Florentine Olschki – in this work Malandrino provides new informa-tion on the initiatives undertaken by the anti-fascist emigrants to America and on Sturzo‟s position towards particular political matters during the summer 1943, such as Badoglio‟s government and the monarchy. The rela-tionship between Sturzo and Einaudi underlines the special friendship be-tween the best-known exponent of Italian Political Catholicism in the first half of the 20th century and a representative of the reforming and democratic soul of liberalism.
