    Alcide De Gasperi e il «Zentrum». Il modello tedesco tra storia e progettualitą politica

    This article proposes a reading of the essay on the 'Germanic Centre' (1928) written by Alcide De Gasperi during his imprisonment for antifascism. De Gasperi, who had a good knowledge of German political culture and who aimed at a resumption of the Italian democratic life, dealt with the history of the Catholic Centre (Deutsche Zentrumspartei or just Zentrum), a German political movement of Catholic and centrist trends. From this viewpoint encompassing history and political planning, De Gasperi considered the German model, not lacking in defects, a good starting point to conceive a new party.
