Le rôle juridique contrasté de l'Union européenne face à la crise. Un tour d'horizon des mesures prises
    in Revue de l'Union européenne/Revue du Marché Commun et de l'Union européenne , n. 534, janvier ,  2010 ,  20-25
The world financial recession, which the European Union did not really become aware of before the fall of 2008, has been an opportunity to take stock of its current legal consistency. In order to protect savers and restore some trust in financial services, the European Union firstly furthered the reinforcement of existing regulations and directives, before focusing on more technical areas that are still withput much legal supervision, such as financial market monitoring or alternative find management. The crisis exposed some national differences and also helped increase the awareness of the long path that remains before the European Union gets nearer a true federal system. Nonetheless the specific case of state subsidy handling shows the flexibility and intelligence that the European authorities had to display in order to retain their privileges. Projects being passed, the recent enforcement of the Lisbon treaty and the composition of the next European Commission against a financial crisis background allow to be optmistic as to the existence of an ever stronger and more consistent European Union.
