This article analyzes the short-term status and the long-term nature of UN-U.S. relations and concludes that focusing on long-term policy directions generates a different and remarkable pattern of continuity with previous administrations that extends back to the creation of the United Nations and runs counter to the comforting notion that we are in a mere fleeting moment of irresponsible insanity. | ||
